Психологическое сопровождение в университетах в условиях постпандемической реальности: анализ практик и рекомендации для развития
This article aims to formulate recommendations for the formation of student psychological support strategies that take into account the new reality universities are operating in after the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlights the practices of providing psychological support to students to deal with the stress in the academic environment. In the course of the research, content analysis and comparison of student support practices in 10 leading Russian and 13 foreign universities in the field of mental wellbeing were conducted. The data for the analysis were taken from open sources related to the selected universities: websites and official social media pages of universities. The universities were compared by the availability of psychological services, the quality of their websites, their online presence, the range of services provided, partnerships and external relations, as well as the presence of nonstandard IT solutions. The analysis of psychological support practices in higher education institutions has shown that many foreign universities apply a systematic approach to ensure the psychological well-being of their students. At the same time, in the Russian universities studied, such an approach is just beginning to emerge, and there is potential for its further development. In this regard, this study offers recommendations aimed at improving and further developing the system of psychological support for students in Russian universities, taking into account the best practices and current trends. The study allows to expand the understanding of the problem of students’ mental well-being in the post-pandemic reality. The proposed recommendations represent a valuable tool for universities to effectively support and stabilize students’ mental well-being in times of stress and change.
