The first Russian translation of the first part of the “Apology for the Republic of Jean Bodin”, written by Jean Bodin himself under the pseudonym “Rene Herpin”. The text gives an idea of both the nature of scholarly discussions in the 16 century and the peculiarities of the argumentation methods used by Jean Bodin.
