The article analyzes the Russian experience in writing textbooks on translation from Vietnamese into Russian and from Russian into Vietnamese. On the basis of five textbooks written in Russia over the past thirty years, forms and methods of teaching both oral and written translation are revealed. A comparative description of each of the presented textbooks is given according to three main parameters: methodological analysis, sociocultural analysis and linguistic analysis. It is indicated that the existing corpus of textbooks allows you to gain deep knowledge and practical experience in translating texts of various types: political, historical, artistic and provides a continuous process of teaching translation activities among Vietnamese students, starting from the second year until graduation from the university. It is noted that the authors of the textbooks have rich pedagogical experience in teaching the Vietnamese language, as well as extensive practice of interpretation and translation. A recommendation is made to write a Vietnamese language textbook on economic translation, which is an important task in the context of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the SRV. It is concluded that the set of available textbooks allows Russian students to form a full-fledged complex of professional competencies of a translator with knowledge of the Vietnamese language.
