The collective monograph examines different types and types of primary sources on the history of Tropical and Southern Africa, in some cases using specific examples. In particular, we are talking about archival materials, the press, memoirs, oral historical tradition, and visual primary sources. The current state of the primary source base for African studies and the problems of working with sources are analyzed.
