Стилометрический анализ русского рассказа начала XX века: выявление гендерного сигнала
The paper presents the results of contrastive analysis of male and female signals in Russian short stories of the early twentieth century. The function «oppose()» designed for the R programming language was applied to a sample of 110 selected texts. A comparison of the words preferred by female and male writers reveals stylistic differences between their texts. Thus, female authors more often use 1st and 2nd personal pronouns, «family» vocabulary and avoid lexemes referring to sound and large scale. Moreover, contrary to stereotypes, women use the lemma «war» more frequently. However, to increase the accuracy of the results, the sample and the number of historical periods considered should be increased and lemmas should be analysed in their context.
