Application of a Sensor Based on a Deceleration System for Measuring Movements
This paper presents the results of a research on the possibility of using a sensor based on deceleration systems
to measure the distance to a flat metal surface with a sensing element in the form of a deceleration system consisting of two connected flat spiral inductance coils with opposite winding direction. In the course of the work the properties of retarding systems were investigated, a method for obtaining measurement information from retarding systems was
proposed, an algorithm for autonomous operation of the sensor was developed, structural and circuit diagrams of the sensor were designed, a model of the sensor was made and its evaluation tests were conducted, the software for calibration of sensor operation, processing and output of measurement information, as well as auxiliary software for automation of the laboratory instrument operation was developed. According to the results of the work, conclusions were made about the possibility of applied application of sensors for measuring linear movements on the basis of deceleration systems when designing devices and systems for control, monitoring and measuring parameters of technological processes.
