Cooperación entre la Unión Europea y América Latina en Materia de Seguridad
The European Union (EU) and Latin America have a long history of cooperation in various fields, including the security. At present, the prospects for cooperation between the two regions in the field of the security are promising. There are several areas where the EU and Latin America can work together to enhance their collective security, such as counter-terrorism, cyber security, drug trafficking, and organized crime. Additionally, the EU can provide technical assistance, expertise and funding to support securityrelated initiatives in Latin America. The EU and Latin American countries can also collaborate on peacekeeping and conflict resolution efforts. However, these efforts can only be successful with political will, mutual trust and close cooperation between both regions. This article provides a general overview of the development of cooperation between the EU countries and Latin American in the field of security, based on the approach of the Copenhagen School.
