Взаимосвязь семейных ценностей современной молодежи и уровня их психологического благополучия

The current study examines the relationship between family values and psychological well-being of the modern youth. The sample consisted of 11,811 individuals aged 18 to 35 years. Family values were assessed by means of an authors’ questionnaire, psychological well-being was measured using the PERMA-Profiler questionnaire adapted by Akimova, Isaeva, and Volkova. The findings indicate that 70.9% of respondents consider family as their top life priority. The majority of participants (63.7%) are currently married or have plans for marriage, while only 14.2% hold negative views on unmarried partnerships. Love and the desire for a family are identified as primary motivations for entering an official marriage by 83.1% of respondents, with 54.9% considering the optimal age for marriage to be before 25 years. Moreover, 84.2% of participants have children or intend to have them, and 17.9% plan to have more than two children. Additionally, 72.6% of respondents believe that both parents should actively participate in parenting. The study revealed the association between family values and psychological well-being of young people. Specifically, individuals who grew up in a full family, married, have children, and adhere to traditional family values exhibit greater overall well-being, including positive emotions, satisfactory relationships, accomplishment, and a sense of meaning.
