Research of the Electrodynamic Parameters of UHF RFID Tags
This paper presents the results of modeling a passive RFID tag MG6 in the range of 860-960 MHz with a known topology, focused on identification applications of tagged objects. The tag is located on a flexible substrate, which entails changes in the electrodynamic characteristics during flexible deformations. The most typical forms of flexible deformations during operation are considered. The work is focused on the study of the main electrodynamic parameters of antennas: S11, VSWR, radiation pattern, as well as the influence of the geometric bends of the tag on them. The following shapes were used to model flexible bends: a cylindrical surface with different radii, a wedge surface, and an elliptical cylinder surface. Numerical simulation results show that the characteristics of the antenna under study can have significant changes, including the worse side, after changes in the geometric shape of the tag itself.
