Литературно-образовательные сообщества: их специфика, функции, разновидности
In this article, we postulate a special class of social organizations: literary-educational communities that combine artistic, academic (or philosophical) and educational functions. Their specificity is in that they spread their theoretical conceptions not only among their own members but also to a wider outer audience; and at the same time, they act as a “test site” where these conceptions are being tested and applied. We distinguish a number of features of this type of communities according to those they cannot be reduced to just literary (or just scientific / scholar / philosophical / educational) ones. We outline the general contours of methods and criteria by which these communities could be best studied. In the Appendix, for a practical example, we publish a collection of historical-literary materials intended for a possible future dictionary of literary-educational communities. This compendium represents in our focus processes that took place in Russian (or more exactly, in pre-revolutionary and early Soviet) literature in the 1910–1920ths.
