Annotation: The three founders of the technology start-up Tardis—Mikhail Matrosov, Vahe Taamazyan and Stanislav Podshivalov—were sitting in a room at the science and technology park in Moscow and discussing the prospects of their business. All three founders were graduates of PhysTech (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology), one of the best Russian universities educating tal-ented students in physics, applied mathematics and technology. Several Nobel Prize winners, as well as many other successful scientists, are amongst the alumni and faculty of this university.
In the middle of the room, there was a round platform surrounded by rods with 3D scanning sensors mounted on them. It was the result of the work of the three founders for three years since 2014. This 3D scanner of the human body received several grant funding. Over the past three years, the three innovators have significantly improved their scanners; these have become fast and accurate. Many industries have been interested in this equipment over the years, but so far, no company has been able to jumpstart sales in any industry. And now, finally, the team has re-ceived important information from an insider in a clothing retail company. This information made the team think about a sharp turn in the development of their business.
