BIC SB RAS is one of the conducting world research centers in catalysis area. It’s scientific-information activity of scientists has been investigated for the first time. The distribution of statistical parameters of reading on journals has been evaluated based on the usage data of the periodicals' electronic database «ScienceDirect – Subject Collection: Chemical Engineering» of the publishing house «Elsevier», in which the basic journals on catalysis are submitted. The quantity of articles published in the appropriate journals by the employeеs of BIC SB RAS has been counted as well as the number of times these journals had been cited. The analysis of the received parameters of reading, citing and publication activity has been carried out. It has been established, that these figures are connected in a statistically significant way. The given results of investigation can be used for modeling information requirements of the scientists and optimization of process of acquisition by electronic resources for the purpose of increasing the efficiency of organization and management of the information-library centers providing information support for scientific researches in different areas of catalysis.
