Публикационная активность университетов в регионах России: оценка и анализ кластеризации

The article is devoted to the study of the publication activity of universities in the regions of the Russian Federation. The study is based on data from the OpenAlex project, which provides open and free access to information on scientific publications. The analysis used the principal component method and k-means clustering. As a result, three clusters of regions with significant differences in the level and dynamics of publication activity of higher education institutions were identified. The research emphasizes the significant heterogeneity of Russian regions in terms of the development of scientific systems and offeres recommendations for developing differentiated approach to supporting and stimulating scientific research at both federal and regional levels. The presented work also identifies limitations associated with the specifics of the data source used and outlines prospects for further studies in the field of publication activity analysis.
