At the center of Latin American theories of international relations, characterized by a predominantly pragmatic approach and a power-political orientation, it has traditionally been precisely overcoming various problems that stand in the way of development at the national and international level. Regional concepts developed under the influence of the research of the scientific community of the "global North", while taking as a basis the economic theory of Marxist political economy, as well as a number of well-established approaches, such as neorealism and liberalism. The origin of TMT schools in Latin America was primarily due to the need to analyze the model of geopolitical relations "center - periphery", as well as the revival and increase in the importance of the ideas of combating racism, decolonization, protecting the rights of migrants, indigenous and oppressed peoples.
