This book sets out to draw out the key lessons from the experience of the last few decades. It will focus particularly on Foresight dealing with Science, Technology and Innovation (ForSTI—Foresight for STI). The meaning of these terms will need to be spelled out in more detail, but at this point we shall note that the STI field is one where longer-term analyses are of considerable importance for stakeholders of all kinds. The aim of this book is to help provide guidance to practitioners, wouldbe practitioners, and users of ForSTI, as to how activities may be planned, implemented, interpreted, and applied.
