Pratiques administratives et comptables au Proche-Orient à l'âge du Bronze

La production d'un document administratif fait appel à des modes d'intellection propres, mobilise des pratiques cognitives complexes et recourt à des conventions d'écriture, des systèmes de tri et de classement spécifiques. Les rapports sociaux particuliers entre les différents acteurs s'y reflètent. Malgré cela, les textes administratifs sont souvent délaissés par les chercheurs rebutés par leur caractère répétitif et laconique ou les difficultés d'interprétation. Parfois ils servent de matière première dans des études consacrées à l'histoire sociale, économique ou pour le vocabulaire des realia. Le projet PICS franco-russe «L'administration économique du palais au Proche-Orient à l'Âge du Bronze», alias COMPTABAB s'est concentré sur le document ou l'archive produit dans le cadre de la gestion palatiale, en s'intéressant aussi bien au contenu qu'au contexte de rédaction.
Dans le présent volume de la série Publications de l'Institut du Proche-Orient ancien du Collège de France sont publiées neuf communications effectuées lors de plusieurs tables rondes. Elles abordent la documentation mésopotamienne, hittite et égyptienne des IIIe et IIe millénaires av. J.-C. et mettent l'accent sur les techniques d'archivage, la gestion des terres ou du personnel et les normes imposées par le pouvoir royal.
