We analyze the distribution of Russian journals in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI, Web of Science database) by subject areas, language of publications and type of access to full texts, as well as the level of internationalization of research results published in them. We calculate the citedness of Russian journals both in main journal indexes (SCIE, SSCI, AHCI) and ESCI to estimate the probability of their inclusion in the future to the main journal indices of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC).
