2021 15th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP)
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the annual European Conference on Antennas and Propagation EuCAP 2021, Europe’s flagship conference on antennas and propagation, which will take place online from 22 to 26 March 2021. Initially it was foreseen to hold it at the Conference Center Düsseldorf, Germany. Due to the rapidly increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases at many places and in the best interest of the Antennas and Propagation community, we decided in December 2020 to move to a fully virtual event. This decision enabled us to dedicate all our forces to organize a memorable virtual event. Based on the survey done with the participants of EuCAP 2020 online, we captured your expectations for an online event. Especially, we have noted the clear wish for more interactivity among the delegates, authors and attendees and with sponsors and exhibitors. This is now a key feature of our EuCAP 2021 Online Conference Platform that duly considers the lessons learnt from the rapid transformation from physical to online events in our daily jobs, ranging from online teaching and attending online conferences to online board meetings.
On behalf of the Conference Organizing Committee and EuCAP Steering Committee, I would like to thank you for the many great efforts done so far to support the EuCAP 2021 technical program. More than 800 delegates have already registered for this very appealing week program. EuCAP 2021 online contains all elements of the technical programme you know from previous editions of EuCAP. The core of the conference are 557 oral presentations, organized in 52 regular and 37 convened sessions and 124 poster presentations. Highlights will be 3 keynotes and 12 invited talks as well as the five Best Paper poster sessions. This will be complemented by 4 short courses, 4 scientific workshops and 16 industrial workshops. In line with this year’s “focus on linking the antennas and propagation community with the automotive and 5G industries” we have introduced a new element: industrial keynote talks have been integrated into 6 regular and convened sessions, where at the beginning of these sessions a speaker from the above mentioned industries will talk about the future requirements in the application area of the session. I also wish to take this occasion to express our gratitude to 1129 volunteer reviewers and meta reviewers of the Technical Program Committee for their support. Thank you very much for these efforts and respectful contributions to the technical program! I also want to express my warmest appreciation to our sponsors and exhibitors. More than 20 exhibitors will present their newest products, tool and services in their individually designed digital hospitality suites in the virtual exhibition.
