The collective monograph is the scientific result of the International Scientific and Practical Conference (2017) and the "round table" (2020), which investigated the problem of "Russia-West – East" in its formational and civilizational, value and ideological understanding, in the context of modern realities. The main mythologems and ideological differences in the polemics of "Slavophiles" and "Westerners"are analyzed. A new essence of Russia's mission in the XX1 century is formulated through the prism of the confrontation of civilizations.
