The article succinctly lists the main features of intercultural marriages in a modern multicultural society and in the Russian Federation as a multinational state. The main trends in intercultural relationships are listed, which entail an increase in both the number of intercultural marriages and the need for further research on topics related to the concept of intercultural marriage. Intercultural marriage is a unique model of interaction between different cultures and is a key link in the creation of a multi-ethnic society with a high level of social cohesion. Harmonization of intercultural - interethnic and ethno-confessional - relations is impossible without increasing the number of intercultural marriages. The author emphasizes the need for scientific research devoted to the problem of intercultural marriage.
