The museum on the path from the “third” to the “fourth place”

Museums today are on the way to a “fourth place”, providing new forms of connections between culture and education, We should note that some museums will take this path bypassing the “third place”, as the educa­tional and informational potential accumulated at the museum will create more prerequisites for them to unite cultural­communicative and educational functions. At the same time, many museums which already are “third places” are actively mastering forms of work inherent to “fourth places”. The museum as a “fourth place” is becoming a hub which not only distributes its resources through formal, non­formal and informal education, but which also creates new conditions for the successful professional self­realization of young people.
