At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Motivation and Essence of the Term “Tropical Mathematics”

Russian Journal of Mathematical Physics. 2020. Vol. 27. No. 4. P. 478–483.
Maslov V. P.

In the present paper, we discuss the notion of 'tropical mathematics' in view of the fact that, up to the present time, there is no generally accepted correct understanding of this notion. The paper presents, rather than mathematical proofs, humanitarian and social justification of the correct understanding of the term. The author proposes to describe the term 'tropical mathematics' by means of a frame based on linguistic, psychological, and cognitive considerations. As an example of the new reality to which tropical mathematics can be applied, one can consider the group of the richest men on our planet, say those who appear in the corresponding lists of the American financial journal 'Forbes'. Once a person has joined this group, he has reached a dierent state and will have special relationships with the rest of the world. To support the claim that tropical mathematics is in a sense 'fantastic', we shall present some unexpected viewpoints of this science. It will also be shown that in tropical mathematics such classical mathematical principles as the Duhamel principle or the Fredholm alternative remain valid.

Трансвитальное Я: опыт персонологии
Zalyubovsky E., Petrovskiy V., Культурно-историческая психология 2023 Т. 19 № 3 С. 13 – 22
The paper substantiates the concept of the existence of a “transvital Self”, a particular form of an individual’s existence beyond the apparent forms of vital function and the processes of reproducing self as a psychophysical integrity. The author uses the term “transvitality” (as in A. Akopyan’s “transvital meanings”) to more generally address this concept as ...

О статусе «Я» в культурно-деятельностном дискурсе
Petrovskiy V., Культурно-историческая психология 2023 Т. 19 № 1 С. 35 – 40
The concept of the I that is present in the scholarly and mundane consciousness is inwardly paradoxical, as it contains the risk of regression to “bad infinity”. Thus, “I see an object” obviously creates in me the image of the object; by implication, “someone” inside me sees the image of the perceived object and, consequently, ...

Poincaré series of valuations on functions over a subfield of complex numbers
Gusein-Zade S., Campillo A., Delgado F., Mathematische Zeitschrift 2026 Vol. 314 No. 1 P. 1–22
For a subfield $\K$ of the field $\C$ of complex numbers, we consider curve and divisorial valuations on the algebra $\K[[x,y]]$ of formal power series in two variables with the coefficients in $\K$. We compute the semigroup Poincar\'e series and the classical Poincar\'e series of a (discrete, rank one) valuation on it. ...

“快”之疾速义何时产生——兼论新义产生的判断标准
Qiang S., Linguistic Research 2025 No. 3 P. 76–85
The determination of new words and meanings is a key issue in lexical history studies. However, common reliance on identifying “the earliest examples” can be challenged by textual complexity and subjective disagreements. Focusing on the emergence of the FAST meaning of kuai (快), this study proposes criteria for identifying new meanings from the perspective of the lexical system. ...

Wave scattering by a sloping beach of an arbitrary angle. Revisited: regular solution
Mishuris G., Meylan M. H., Pelinovsky E., Journal of Fluid Mechanics 2026 Vol. 1045 Article A4
In this paper, we revisit the classic problem of a wave field on a sloping beach of an arbitrary angle and propose a general approach that allows the computation of regular solutions of the problem regardless of the angle. We use the Mellin-transform technique, reducing the problem to singular integral equations with fixed-point singularities of ...

Гипокористические имена на -ец- в древнерусском языке
Budennaya E., Slovĕne 2026 Т. 1 С. 31–67
The article examines Old Russian anthroponyms with the suffix -ec-, originally conveying the meaning ‘less than X’. A diachronic corpus study of 11th–17th-century texts reveals that while this suffix lacked inherent pejorative connotations in Old Russian sources, contextual (adherent) pejoration is clearly observable. For pre-15th-century chronicles, two primary usage patterns are identified—1) characters with explicit negative evaluation, and 2) ...

Iterative construction of the R-matrices in arbitrary dimensions
Pyatov P. N., Pivovarov P. A., / Series math "arxiv.org". 2026. No. 2609.06274.
We investigate a special ansats that allows for an iterative solution of the constant Yang-Baxter equation. Testing this ansatz, we construct four sequences of the constant R-matrices. In each sequence the R-matrices act on the tensor squares of vector spaces of linearly growing dimensions. Each R-matrix also depends on a single complex parameter. By analyzing the ...

On static manifolds with boundary admitting a nowhere-vanishing static potential
Medvedev V., / Series arXiv "math". 2026.
We study complete static manifolds with boundary admitting a nowhere-vanishing static potential. Our main result shows that, under a natural lower bound relating the scalar curvature and the boundary mean curvature, a simple static manifold with boundary must in fact have positive scalar curvature, negative boundary mean curvature, and be compact; we also obtain explicit ...
