«Человек и мир»: изучая мир вокруг себя
The interaction of man and the world on the global agenda is presently covered by the concept of “sustainable development”. When working with children and adolescents, it is important not only to study the text of this concept, but to organize the activity in such a way so that its basic goals and principles are communicated to them. This can be done through studying the world around you. To what extend do the environment, society, industries created by man, buildings, nature management — allow not to worsen, but to improve a specific part of the world for future generations? At the same time, it is important to develop a systemic vision of the interconnections of all elements in the local ecosystem and the specifics of its connection with global processes taking place in the world. The thesis “think globally, act locally” can be very productive for any educational practice, especially in the context of environmental, social-humanitarian and local history areas of activity. It is important that local and global processes in the world are studied over time, through understanding the logic of development, forecasting the future and awareness of their responsibility for the world around you in interaction with other people. The introductory article presents the main problems and questions that are discussed in the issue of the journal devoted to the subject of «studying the world around oneself».
