Problem of interrelation of labor market and higher education market remains topical. Many countries see an increase in educational expenses including state expenditure, meanwhile in Russia it is not sufficient. Among the problems of higher education in Russia, researchers pay attention to the lack of coordination between the labor market and educational services market and lower quality of higher education. We analyze the results of the research carried out in 2002-2003, 2010, 2011 and 2018. Students by correspondence living and working in Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod region were surveyed. The research proved our fears concerning the quality of education and the interrelation of labor market and higher education market. The government should strengthen the links between these markets and encourage the development of the human capital of education.
