In this paper, we give a characterization of the RF effect of memory switching on Nb-Al/AlOx-(Nb)-Pd0.99Fe0.01-Nb Josephson junctions as a function of magnetic field pulse amplitude and duration, alongside with an electrodynamical characterization of such junctions, in comparison with standard Nb-Al/AlOx-Nb tunnel junctions. The use of microwaves to tune the switching parameters of magnetic Josephson junctions is a step in the development of novel addressing schemes aimed at improving the performances of superconducting memories.

We investigate superconductor/insulator/ferromagnet/superconductor tunnel Josephson junctions in the dirty limit using the quasiclassical theory. We formulate a quantitative model describing the oscillations of critical current as a function of thickness of the ferromagnetic layer and use this model to fit recent experimental data. We also calculate quantitatively the density of states (DOS) in this type ...

We study nonequilibrium effects in current transport through voltage biased tunnel junction with long diffusive superconducting leads at low applied voltage eV << 2 Delta, and finite temperatures. Due to a small value of the Josephson frequency, the quasiparticle spectrum adiabatically follows the time evolution of the superconducting phase difference, which results in the formation ...

We calculate the subgap current in planar superconducting tunnel junctions with thin-film diffusive leads. It is found that the subharmonic gap structure of the tunnel current scales with an effective tunneling transparency which may exceed the junction transparency by up to two orders of magnitude depending on the junction geometry and the ratio between the ...

We present a detailed analysis of the dependence of the critical current I(c) on an in-plane magnetic field B of 0, pi, and 0-pi superconductor-insulator-ferromagnet-superconductor Josephson junctions. I(c)(B) of the 0 and the pi junction closely follows a Fraunhofer pattern, indicating a homogeneous critical current density j(c)(x). The maximum of I(c)(B) is slightly shifted along ...

We formulate a theoretical framework to describe multiparticle current transport in planar superconducting tunnel junctions with diffusive electrodes. The approach is based on the direct solving of quasiclassical Keldysh - Green function equations for nonequilibrium superconductors, and consists of a combination of circuit theory analysis and improved perturbation expansion. The theory predicts a much greater ...

We show a perturbation theory of the Josephson transport through ferromagnetic insulators (FIs). Recently we have found that the appearance of the atomic scale 0-pi transition in such junctions based on numerical calculations. In order to explore the mechanism of this anomalous transition, we have analytically calculated the Josephson current using the tunneling Hamiltonian theory ...

We study analytically and numerically the distribution of granular temperatures in granular mixtures for
different dissipation mechanisms of inelastic inter-particle collisions. Both driven and force-free systems
are analyzed. We demonstrate that the simplified model of a constant restitution coefficient fails to
predict even qualitatively a granular temperature distribution in a homogeneous cooling state. At the
same time we reveal ...

Phase relations in the pseudoternary system TbCr3(BO3)4–K2Mo3O10–B2O3 have been studied in the temperature
range 900–1130°C and the single-phase terbium chromium borate crystallization field has been
mapped out. It has been shown that increasing the TbCr3(BO3)4 content of the starting high-temperature

The framework of simple opposition realism - anti-realism is not enough to analyze the views on the reality of unobservable objects of quantum theory.
