HSE Researchers Show How Congenital Motor Disorders Affect Brain Development
Researchers from HSE University’s Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience have synthesised the findings of their previous studies on brain development in children with obstetric brachial plexus palsy and arthrogryposis. Their analysis shows that impaired motor function in early childhood not only limits children’s motor experience but also affects memory, categorical thinking, and information processing. The study has been published in Frontiers in Psychology.

Window into the Body: Scientists Develop Neural Network to Detect Risk of 15 Diseases from Retinal Images
Russian universities, with the participation of HSE University, Sber, and Z-union, have developed a neural network that can simultaneously assess the risk of 15 types of pathology from retinal photographs, including not only eye diseases but also cardiovascular conditions. The AI system can help clinicians detect potentially concerning changes at an early stage, identify signs reflecting the condition of retinal blood vessels, and determine whether a patient may need further examination. The paper has been published in Frontiers in Medicine.

Implicit processing during change blindness revealed with mouse-contingent and gaze-contingent displays

Attention, Perception and Psychophysics. 2018. P. 844–859.
Chetverikov A., Kuvaldina M., MacInnes W., Johannesson O., Kristjansson A.

People often miss them. This phenomenon, reveals the limits of visual awareness. Here, we will investigate the blindness of the patient. Traditional gazecontingent paradigms adapt the display in real time. We’ll compare you with a mouse-contingent paradigm for your mouse. 2) and untethered overt and covert attention (mousecontingent display; Experiment 1). In the case of a person who has been in a state of discomfort, it can lead to change blindness. The results of the show are processed. In addition, there is a need for further changes to the changing target. Finally, it’s possible to establish a direct connection. The results of the show are processed. Stronger right-hemispheric involvement in language processing is associated with greater functional connectivity between the left-lateralized language-related network and the cingulo-opercular network
Karpychev V., Malyutina S., Dragoy O., Brain Structure and Function 2026 Vol. 231 Article 69
Language comprehension and production are predominantly supported by the left-lateralized language-related network (LRN). However, right-hemispheric homologs of the language regions can also contribute to language processing, resulting in reduced left-hemispheric language lateralization. To date, it remains unclear whether less left-hemispheric language lateralization is associated with the recruitment of other non-language networks and their interaction with ...
