The modern family, as before, plays a crucial role in shaping the social environment in which the child grows and develops. At the same time, today the role of the family is manifested in how the education of the child is organized, what kinds of leisure parents choose. They are the mediators between the child and the social development situation, determine how the range of opportunities available to him, spheres of self-realization, sampling will develop. In the light of this, the role of the family in education re- quires revision, it is clear that it is the partnership dialogue between the school and parents that is considered to be the most important condition for the well-being of the child.
The article describes the results of research on the main landmarks on which the family relies, when choosing a school, as well as the existing deficit of information about a number of characteristics of an educational institution.
