Семьи в период дистанционной учебы
COVID pandemic has tremendously influenced school functioning and the educational process in general all over the world. This paper focuses on the family members` involvement in the child education during the urgent transition to the distant education and it depicts how families overall survived through this period. It includes the results of two studies based on surveys with schoolers` parents (N1=2500 and N2=1949). Results demonstrate that distant education, primarily, affected mothers, because apart from the increased workload they had to extend their involvement in child education. Also, it was found out that most help was needed by the 1) primary school students, 2) students with the low academic results, 3) children, who had low study motivation during distant education and 4) students without online-education experience. Furthermore, it was discovered that distant education has impacted familial psychological wellbeing. Children’s motivation to study according to parental reports has decreased and the mothers, especially of the primary school students, have developed high levels of parental burnout. This analytical report could be valuable for parents, educational facilities, researchers and the wider public who is interested in the school functioning and educational processes during pandemic.
