In Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, gender equality policies have been in place for some time. Data indicates that while Russian women actively participate in developing the information society and digital economy, both as users and produc‑ ers of information services, and that information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become an integral part of their everyday life, there is a gender imbalance in the telecom industry workplace.
