The article is devoted to analysis of the distribution of roles in a modern Russian family. The study built on the results of the study "Change in desired family image in the eyes of different generations in post-Soviet space (on example of Russia and Belarus)" was held with the participation of the author in 2014 with the support of RHSF (grant 14-23-01551). In the article the conclusion about the mosaic structure of Russian families in terms of distribution of family roles and responsibilities are allocated and traditional and egalitarian families. While, ideally, families are more likely to work together within the family. This tendency is reflected in the assessments of different generations.
