Смарт-учебник как ключевой компонент курса «Английский язык для специальных целей», реализуемого в рамках смешанного обучения

The paper is devoted to features of the smart textbook as an integral element of the learning package of the course "English for Specific Purposes". The smart textbook is launched via the educational social network Edmodo within the blended learning framework. The smart textbook is a combination of professionally oriented authentic materials, a flexible set of exercises including the invariant and variant components, and a suite of tools enabling participants of the educational process to interact extensively and productively. The authors describe in detail current assessment mechanisms applied within the smart textbook framework. Particular attention is drawn to a special module of assessment exercises referred to as express practice along with the peer assessment technology to be intensively introduced into the course of English for specific purposes.
