The paper is focused on the relation between cognitive styles and ways of argumentation. We consider the concept of the cognitive style, argumentation, linguistic argument, and the peculiarities of the cognitive styles model of argumentation. The results of psycholinguistic empirical study and statistical modelling based on the procedures of means comparison; analysis of variance and density decomposition approve the significance of the relation between the cognitive style and the way of argumentation used by students of various universities and majors. We also tested the gender difference in using various types of arguments.
