The article primarily considers the importance of statistics information and its role when analysing the economic and social situation in the country as well as making decisions at any management level. The authors give an overview of the existing traditional methods of teaching Statistics. The article analyses international teaching practices and illustrates various approaches to teaching Statistics at higher educational institutions. The authors suggest using a combined methodology, including both traditional ways and interactive technologies, showing advantages and disadvantages of traditional and innovational methods of teaching Statistics. The authors developed a case that involves a text, a video, a task and informational background on the subject. Implementing the given method is supposed to increase interest to Statistics and will allow students to be involved more actively into the process of simulating the situation of solving real problems.
