Участие кооперативов Пермской губернии в благотворительном движении в начале XX в. (до февраля 1917 г.)
The article is aimed at analyzingof the directions, forms, and scale of philanthropy of cooperative organizations. As it is elaborated in the paper, the beginning of the XX century the level of charitable enterprise of cooperatives was small, and mainly in the field of education. The wartime circumstances increased the philanthropy of cooperatives, making cooperative organizations full-fledged actors of charitable activities. Mostly rural cooperative charity was especially unique because of its targeted actions, providing humanitarian support mainly to the local population, the cooperatives were well aware of their needs, which contributed to the effective solution of relevant social problems in rural and factory areas.Based on theresearch, the author concluded that during the First World War, the cooperatives of the Perm province, introducing the principles of voluntary mutual support and expanding the scope of their charitable practices, attracted various segments of the population to participate in charity actions.
