‘Science Is Universal-It Knows No Borders
Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor and Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis at HSE University, together with his colleagues, has developed methods of network analysis in bibliometrics that have made it possible to identify patterns in the appearance and citation of publications in academic journals, as well as their influence on each other. When one or a number of studies are frequently cited by a wide range of journals, this is an indicator that the research is of high quality. By contrast, extensive cross-citation within a limited group of journals increases the likelihood of identifying a network of predatory publications.

С. 97–167.
Gofman A. B.

This paper explores the essential aspects of the dramatic history of the idea of solidarity in social sciences, as well as the conclusions and lessons that ought to be derived from this history. This is particularly important now because today the idea of solidarity is returning into scientific discourse. A detailed comparative analysis of the theories by Emile Durkheim and Friedrich Hayek, concerning the interrelations of social solidarity and social rules, of particularism and universalism, is carried out. Some new or revised interpretations of the ideas of social solidarity, regulation, collective effervescence, anomie in Durkheim’s, Hayek’s and Robert Merton’s theories are given. The contemporary significance of their theoretical view points is evaluated. In conclusion, the implications of particular solidarities and “abstract rules” in contemporary world, namely in Russia, are considered.

http://This article attempts to clarify the essence of Durkheim’s rationalism, especially in his interpretation of morality. The author distinguishes between two aspects, or meanings, of Durkheim’s rationalism: 1) epistemological one and 2) ontological one. In the first, epistemological sense, Durkheim was a convinced rationalist, defending rationalistic means of cognition of social phenomena. In the second, ...

The concept of “anomie” is fundamental to sociology for at least two reasons, in addition to its well-known application for constructing models of the social, which have retained their heuristic potential to this day. First, anomie is an integral and fundamentally important part of the categorical apparatus that ensured the development and “legitimization” of sociology ...

The author proposes a hypothesis of two types of mechanisms of social self-organization: its launch and maintenance of structural integrity. These are two fundamentally different mechanisms. Social self-organization requires four mandatory conditions: (1) a set of interacting elements (individuals), homogeneous in origin and creating, due to their common habitat, a behavioral population system; (2) the ...

Raab R.,
