South Korea's achievements in the arms market are primarily associated with the capabilities of its defense industry. The Republic of Korea's defense industry provides for domestic demand and seeks to expand the geography and range of export deliveries. Even though the production capabilities of South Korean defense enterprises are loaded for 3 years ahead, Seoul is not trying to stop there. The ambitious goal of becoming the world's fourth largest arms exporter by 2027 shapes not only South Korea's foreign economic strategy, but also Seoul's military and political course.
