Ле Куи Дон как представитель эпохи Просвещения во Вьетнаме
Drawing on global-history approaches, this article analyzes the work and intellectual legacy of Lê Quý Đôn, an eighteenth-century Vietnamese scholar and encyclopedist. It examines the conceptual dimensions and substantive issues in his most notable works within the framework of Sebastian Conrad’s notion of a global Enlightenment, and compares them with defining expressions of the Enlightenment across the West and the East. The study argues that Lê Quý Đôn’s efforts to accumulate, systematize, and disseminate knowledge—together with his ideas and contributions to Vietnam’s social development—make him not only an outstanding luminary in Vietnamese history but also a prominent figure of the Enlightenment understood as a universal phenomenon in global history.
