Время Маяковского: Смена дискурсов. К 132-й годовщине ключевого актора авангардной эпохи
This paper attemptsto review the currentstage of Mayakovsky studies. After a brief period of oblivion in the 1990s and 2000s, we are witnessing a serious surge in studies of the biography and work of Mayakovsky – a poet, artist, actionist, publicist – which has reached a qualitatively new research stage. The Soviet state cult seriously reduced and falsified the real image of Mayakovsky – and the gaping gaps in his biography, bibliography, iconography, and reception have begun to be actively filled only in the last quarter of a century. We pay special attention to the problems of poetics – several dissertations and monographs are considered, where a number of the main aspects of Mayakovsky’s poetics (for example, subject-object relations) are radically rethought from various positions and using different methodological strategies. The paper concludes with a brief explanation of the structure of this special issue of Slavic Literatures, consisting of thirteen studies that rethink a number of generally accepted ideas about Mayakovsky’s work, and, in particular, ask seemingly unexpected questions: “Was Mayakovsky a militarist?” and “Was Mayakovsky an avant-gardist?”
