The article presents the results of a study of ceramic material from the basement of the Tanais settlement. The uniqueness of the complex lies in its content – most of the inventory consists of red slip ware from various production centers. This article presents a detailed analysis of these materials, provides new statistical data, detailed typing, dating and descriptions, regional geological analysis of the molding mass phase X-ray diffraction results of objects. An attempt was made to clarify the dating of the complex, as well as to suggest a partial reconstruction of the Tanais trade and economic relations system in the late II - early III centuries AD.
