Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Climate Risks in Russia: Ranking of Regions by Adaptation Needs

Izvestiya. Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics. 2024. Vol. 60. No. 3. P. 362–371.
Makarov I. A., Chernokulsky A. V.

The consequences of climate change are associated with significant potential damage to the population and the economy. To minimize this damage, a system of adaptation measures is needed, and the measures must be ranked depending on the level of climate risks. In this study, climate risks for the regions of the Russian Federation given the climate hazards, exposure to these harards, and vulnerability to it have been estimated. A rating of regions has been compiled based on the level of physical risks of climate change and the need to adapt to them. The rating for four key types of climate change impact: the impact of anomalously high air temperatures on the health of the urban population, the impact of droughts on agriculture, increasing frequency of forest fires, and melting of permafrost has been presented. The results are presented separately for the regional and national levels of target setting and provide an objective basis for setting priorities for financing adaptation measures.

Makarov I. A., Россия в глобальной политике 2026 Т. 24 № 4 (140) С. 164–182

This article examines the musealisation of industrial heritage and its role in regional and corporate branding. When green is not attractive: energy transition, capital inflows, and environmental outcomes in BRICS economies
Kilinc-Ata N., Warong M. M., SN Business & Economics 2026 Vol. 6 Article 326(2026)
Green transitions are widely expected to attract cleaner capital and accelerate decarbonization; however, emerging-economy evidence increasingly challenges this assumption. This study examines the dynamic relationship between energy transition indicators and capital inflows in BRICS+ economies over the period 1996–2022, explicitly testing the “Green Haven” hypothesis under conditions of global uncertainty. Unlike much of the existing ...

This systematic review aims to synthesise the existing literature on BMA by mapping how the construct is defined, what drives it, and what typological patterns can be identified. Following the SPAR-4-SLR ...
