The birth of early modern Russian political language, the establishment of Russian diplomacy in the European arena during the complex political and religious conflicts of the 16th century seems to be quite important. The book examines the history of the confrontation between Swedish and Russian diplomacy during two rounds of negotiations that ended the Russo-Swedish War of the 1590s with the Treaty of Tyavzino (1595), as well as the implementation of the conditions of the Treaty. The main sources are the materials of the negotiations in Tyavzino (1592-1593 and 1594-1595), which are firstly introduced to public. The history of the study of the political situation in Northern and Central Europe and Russia in the 1590s, the socio-economic landscape of the region are considered. The signment of the Treaty of Tyavzino was a difficult decision for the diplomacy of Russia and Sweden; the signing of the Treaty was followed by a complex process of demarcation - the restoration of the border that existed before the "Livonian War". The signment examines, first of all, the social consequences of the conclusion of the Tyavzino Treaty, the mobilization capabilities of the Muscovite Kingdom in the North-West, the political significance of the Tyavzino Treaty in the context of the development of Russian-Swedish relations in the period of Sigismund Wasa dethronement.
