The Review showcases the evolution of volunteering practices and highlights the value of volunteers' contribution to the development of Central Asian countries. The Review presents best practices of volunteering, the expertise of non-profit organizations, government agencies and volunteers themselves.
According to the Review:
- More than 70% of the region’s volunteers participate in educational, environmental and social initiatives, playing an important role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Volunteer projects in Central Asia have already helped improve the quality of life of more than 500,000 people, including vulnerable groups.
- 60% of volunteers in the region are young people under 30 years of age. This confirms the growing involvement of young people in social projects.
