The article considers the use of linguistic expertise in contemporary media sphere. Different types and linguistic status of expertise are analyzed. A specific example provided illustrates the practice of linguistic expert conclusions. The article shows a way to increase the level of trust in society and efficiency of communication in the political and business area. Linguistic expert conclusions are useful to determine if information diffused within media space is valid. Thus, further development of legal, linguistic and socio-cultural aspects is critical for extension of linguistic expert conclusions in area of public relations.
