(Де)конструирование салафизма? Историография вопроса
This article focuses on the main contexts of the utilization
of the concept of “Salafism”. The author endeavors to reveal the origins and
the content of this concept utilized in English and Russian historiography.
The paper particularly deals with the encountering and analyzes of the
various typologies of Salafism, as well as a list of inspirations and ideologists
of Salafism – from Ibn Taymiyya to Nasser al-Din al-Albani. The author
eventually concludes that it is nearly impossible to identify the common
foundations of the doctrine called “Salafist” in the way that it circulates in
the recent English and Russian historiography. This raises the question of the
appropriateness of using the concept of “Salafism” in contemporary Islamic
studies and, therefore, possibly, suggests avoiding using it concerning those
Islamic groups that gravitate either towards moderate Islamic parties or to
armed organizations waging an illegal struggle.
