Since the research process is assumed to be completed only when its results have been introduced to and acknowledged by the academia, scholars tend to get their studies and achievements published. Russian researchers make attempts to apply to international journals but get disappointed as not all articles prove to be accepted. The present article aims to analyse and summarise international journals’ tips and guidelines addressed to potential authors focusing on structural norms and citation and referencing conventions and. The conclusions made on the basis of the current analysis may be used by those who are planning to try hand at writing internationally and by university staff involved in teaching academic writing skills.
