The article is concerned with the structure and semantics of such a widespread linguistical phenomenon in the German language as elementative - ‘Setzung’. Being a synsemantic lexico-grammatical index, elementative is a reduced predicative kernel, requiring obligatory propositional explanation within a complex sentence.
