The article deals with the ways of verbalisation of concept “fear” and “joy” in diachronia based on the material of the German language. The language representatives of the concepts under consideration are analized, semantico-ethymological analysis is given to language units of German and other german languages that represent this concept and semantic shifts of the meaning of the observed lexical units are traced.
