СИЛЛАБО-ТОНИЧЕСКАЯ МЕТРИКА В ВЕРЛИБРЕ: СЛУЧАЙНОСТЬ ИЛИ ПРИЕМ? (На примере переводов Александра Шумилова из сербской поэзии и его оригинального творчества)

The article addresses the issue of free verse as a distinct system of versification. In contemporary philology, free verse has yet to receive a definitive positive characterization. It is typically described through a list of absent elements, such as regular meter or rhyme. However, these elements are not entirely eliminated from the text; rather, they transform in nature. Using Alexander Shumilov's translations of Vasco Popa as a case study, the article explores the concept of latent accentual-syllabic polymetry as one of the most significant characteristics of Serbian and Russian free verse. The second part of the article discusses Shumilov's original free verses as metrically organized texts.
