In modern realities, the study of the peculiarities of personal development in the context of the information society is an urgent task of modern science. The aim of this article is to identify problems and contradictions of the digital transformation of personality in the context of modern realities from a theoretical point of view. Literary sources indicate that the problem of personality and the individual has a genesis, which has long entered into the history of philosophy, establishing the notion that the phenomenon of personality is a fact of historical formation of culture. At present, the philosophical Pythagoreanism has received a new axiological interpretation – digitalization becomes a social phenomenon. Dynamism and multi-vector digital transformation in the conditions of epochal and basic innovations, transforming society in the 21st century, dictate methodologically relevant digital settings and guidelines for typological cognition of personality based on the integrity of “man–culture–society–nature–cosmos”. In this context, it is legitimate to talk about the formation of a new scientific picture of the world in the framework of the modern scientific worldview, in which one of the fundamental components is the personality, which is not opposed to objective reality, but is understood as part of this reality. Sociocultural conditions determine the process of forming a new type of personality, whose status is indicated, among other things, by the high level of digital culture. In turn, digital technologies create a social environment or “digital reality” in which the material, spiritual, moral and philosophical foundations of existence are transformed, and a personalized personality type is formed. This type begins to interact with the world and organize their social space in a new way: material (the use of digital gadgets, devices), symbolic (the use of digital programming systems), institutional (digital activities of social institutions), mental-spiritual (the use of digital devices), and spiritual. However, the permanent immersion of the individual in virtual space seriously transforms the structure of personal identity, forming a digital self-identification of the individual, far from “classical” forms (political, national-cultural, gender, religious, civil, etc.). The digital self-identification of a person reflects the experience of being in the new information reality, the awareness of oneself as a part of the real world and the virtual world. People begin to feel their own success. Cultural globalization is taking place – the exchange of ideas, meanings, passions and values around the world in a way that expands, intensifies and strengthens social relations. Overall, it is the field of sociocultural context in which the individual develops. The facts presented in the article emphasize the relevance and significance of the study of personality through the prism of conceptual discourses. The phenomenological approach combined with the information paradigm of modern science was the methodological basis for analyzing the specifics of personality in the digital reality.
