The 'Second Shift' Is Not Why Women Avoid News
Women are more likely than men to avoid political and economic news, but the reasons for this behaviour are linked less to structural inequality or family-related stress than to personal attitudes and the emotional perception of news content. This conclusion was reached by HSE researchers after analysing data from a large-scale survey of more than 10,000 residents across 61 regions of Russia. The study findings have been published in Woman in Russian Society.

Belkovich R.

The article surveys the history of conflicts on the issues of foreign policy within conservative movement in the USA of the XXth century and reflects on the lessons these conflicts can teach Russian conservatives. The author analyses internal contradictions inherent in neoconservative programme which have resulted in a deep political, economic and cultural crisis of the United States, and points at the more authentic versions of American conservative agenda, which could be instrumental in establishing more fruitful relationships between Russia and the USA.

Массовый редистриктинг и распределительная политика: эмпирический анализ на примере регионов России
Девятников В. Ю., Социология власти 2025 Т. 37 № 4 С. 163–185
Redistricting is an important tool of political struggle, distinguished by several features that set it apart from other methods of creating a non-competitive electoral advantage: secrecy and non-provocativeness. These characteristics have led to significant scholarly attention, primarily focused on the political consequences of redistricting. However, the administrative and legal aspects of redistricting remain less studied, which may limit ...

Galperin M., Вестник экономического правосудия Российской Федерации 2026 № 5 (147) С. 13–26
Using the example of a case that recently reached the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation (SC RF), the author notes the phenomenon of depersonalization of the trial and enforcement proceedings, unusual for Russian jurisdiction, but long known in common law countries. For some categories of disputes, the defendant figure itself loses its significance, and the procedural status ...

Экстерриториальное применение как проблема концепции прав человека
Лучкин Ф. В., Московский журнал международного права 2026 No. 1 P. 52–62
INTRODUCTION. If the legal recognition of human rights depends on belonging to “all members of the human family”, then the existence of the scope of application of human rights ratione loci is logically contradictory. Either there should be no territorial restrictions on the application of human rights, or the provisions of the Universal Declaration of ...

From Euphoria to Neurosis
Lukyanov F., Russia in Global Affairs 2025 Vol. 23 No. 4 P. 5–12
There are some things that signify entire historical processes and eras. The Berlin Wall is perhaps the most glaring example. What could better symbolize the division of Europe and the world into two ideologically, militarily, and politically irreconcilable blocs? A massive, technologically advanced fortification, cutting through the soul of a leading city of the Old World. ...

The Past Comes Knocking
Lukyanov F., Russia in Global Affairs 2025 Vol. 23 No. 3 P. 5–8
In times of upheaval, it is always tempting to compare the present with the past: Will history repeat itself? The war of Israel and the U.S. against Iran brings to mind the most diverse historical episodes—from the catastrophic (the world wars) to the equally painful but localized (e.g., the destruction of Iraq’s statehood at the ...

But it was during the Bush administration that a "radical turning point" occurred. ...

The two sides began with a profound degree of mutual misunderstanding, yet felt compelled to continue the conversation. The ...
